Wake doesn't have an honors program. You can graduate with honors in your major. In order to get honors in your major, you have to do an honors project and write a thesis (I believe that this is universal to all the majors, but I'm not totally positive). Anyone who wishes can complete honors in a major (again, I think). In addition, we have the cum laude, magna cum laude, and suma cum laude designations that most colleges give at graduation, and those are based solely on gpa (3.4, 3.6, and 3.8 respectively).

thank you all so much for your help and insight.

i finally settled on BC, because i feel like its a better place for me to enjoy my college years (something i neglected to do in high school). And with my honors acceptance i dont think i will be compromising the quality of my education by attending BC.

to be honest im still unsure, but im trying to let wake go so i can just fall completely inlove with BC (because they are both amazing places...)

thanks again!

Your choice and all the best. But you really gotta know ... there's NOTHING like WFU coeds in those colorful spring dresses offering up, "Y'all should call me sometime." I'm sure there are lots of pretty BC coeds, too. Problem is, none'll know it until June and by then they're all back in ... Winston-Salem.

Good luck. Knock 'em dead. You'll never know what you missed ... unless you take a road trip to see the Deacs n Eagles hoop it up. If you do, make sure you get some Moravian sugar cake at Deweys ... and some of the original Krispy Kremes.

I graduated from BC a while ago, and have always had a soft spot in my heart for Wake Forest (don't know why, maybe the name and the architecture)...so I've been following the OP's decision closely. I want to congratulate the Wake posters on their articulate and even-tempered responses. Both colleges are mid-sized with great Division I sports programs--which I think gives you the best of both worlds--some of the intimacy of liberal arts colleges and the excitement of the large universities. I appreciate the fact that you showed respect to a fellow-ACC school and didn't give BC any cheap shots.
