One event

For an english essay, I have to write about one memory that is significant to me. I have to include sensory detail and dialogue. It needs to be 3-5 pages long.

What would you write about?
Why is it important?
Why do you still remember it to this day?
What did you learn from it?

I was considering writing about my father's cancer diagnosis, but I think that might be too personal to do for my first essay in that class. Its the only event that I can think of.

Ugh, I hate personal narratives.

Why not write about that topic, though? If it is more personal, than you will be able to write better on that subject, and only the teacher will read it anyway.

if you're a junior, put a lot of effort into your narrative. you can use it as your CommonApp essay.

write about the cancer thing. the more personal it is, the easier it will be to write.
