One good and one bad SAT 2 score?

So I received a very poor score on my physics subject test (580) that I took in October. Since I was applying Early Action. I was forced to submit it without seeing it. I was anticipating it to be at least in the mid 600s. My other subject test is math 2 which I received a 740 on. Before receiving my score back I was fairly confident with my UVA application (everything else is above average such as SAT 1, GPA, and extracurriculars) now I'm kind of worried.

How big of a deal is having that poor physics score on my application?

UVA is my top choice so I've been freaking out lately. I'm planning to take the test again in December to improve my score but hopefully I'll get in either way. Thanks again for the help.

I have a similar question so I’d like to ask it ITT as well. Has anybody gotten in without sending in any SAT 2’s at all? It says it is strongly recommended that we submit them.

My son did not have great SAT 2 scores and was still admitted. From our experience, I believe that one lower score will not exclude you from being admitted.

UVa recommends sending SAT(II) scores, but they are not required. As such, you will not be penalized for lower scores. Admissions officers look for reasons to admit you, NOT reasons to deny you.
