i think you can choose to withhold your AP scores.
cb’s official answer:

If I don’t get a good grade on an AP Exam, will it hurt my chances for college admission?

If you take an examination as a senior, colleges will not receive your grade before July–probably well after you have been admitted. If you choose to report AP grades obtained before your senior year, you will primarily be telling the colleges that you undertook a difficult course and that you are serious about your studies. Overall, approximately two-thirds of all AP test takers receive AP grades of at least 3. This grade is regarded as an indicator of an ability to do successful work at most colleges.

I doubt they wouldn’t care, especially since it sounds like you will be taking some your junior year that they will see. And, you can’t even have to send the scores to your college if you don’t want to–I wouldn’t stress about it, personally.

Secondly, you can retake the test; though I’m not sure if it shows both scores or just the better of the two.

absolutely not - scores are self-reported, so colleges don’t have to know… you can also cancel your scores, which I would do if I for sure knew I had a 1 or a 2, and finally even if the colleges saw it there wouldn’t be a large impact on admissions - just look over all the threads with people who got into Harvard and Yale with 2’s - don’t sweat it

Are you required to list all scores on the common app? Would it be a reason to rescind your application if they found a bad score you didn’t report?

Also, I’m not completely sure I got a terrible score — it depends how decently my essays are scored. Can I cancel the score AFTER I see it?

Otherwise, I might just take it again next year — I already have most of the prep.

I think, as in I’m not 100% sure, you can send scores to colleges having a score ‘withheld’ for a fee (as in they don’t send that score to the college). I believe one of my friends did that anyways–might be something to look into.

Does anyone have a link how you don’t send it since last year I did bad and got a 2 on WH and might not want to send it, but this year I am positive i got 4’s and 5’s (two exams.)
