<p>Susan, I wish it were only that, but unfortunately there were some fairly sadistic law. profs at my school that would "call you out" for trying to pass. I am glad that it is more humane today. It was starting in my day. I had one prof. who would put you on notice that you were "likely" to be call on during a given week. Everyone was prepared and the tension of going class on other days was greatly reduced. By that was not the norm.</p>

<p>CD, I'm glad I'll (hopefully be) going to LS after the good 'ole days :-). I guess it all depends on the professor, really. You want to be able to simulate advocacy and quick thinking skills as would be necessary in front of a judge or panel, but you don't want to solely use SM to put down students for your amusement or whathaveyou.</p>
<p>By SM do you mean socratic method, sado-masochism, or both?</p>
