So…my daughter yesterday filed the common app and the Rochester supplement, checking off the EN box on the supplement. Will she be sent a link to use to sign up for MyROC or should she create a profile there herself? Nothing in the email yet other than an acknowledgement her apps were filed.
Oh, and THANK you for all the good advice on this thread and others.

another reality check post: S has check mark next to SAT IIs. Also, he did NOT get an email about opening a MyRoc account (yes, other schools do initiate this step). In fact the very first thing he did was open a MyRoc account a couple of months ago to allow him to ask for an interview. So do go to the link and follow the easy instructions to create an account.

Thanks, Tyler.

My daughter created her MyROC when she scheduled her campus tour last spring.

Tyler, thanks for all the helpful tips so far.

My D finished her EN app last night. I looked at her myRoc account this morning to see that all the parts were listed as received. There are a few inconsistencies on the page, I just want to see if there is anything worth following up.

The payment hasn’t been processed yet but the other parts in the “track your application” are checked off, so that seems ok. We have the receipt from the CA on the payment so I assume it will be processed during business hours today. The top welcome part says “not applied yet” I assume that will update when the payment is processed and will hopefully change to EN. If not, that is something to follow up.

In the actions, interview is not checked off. However, in the registered events, there is an off campus “(name of city) interviews” which she did attend and did have an alumni interview. Since it is noted there, and she did mention it in her app for people associated with Rochester that she had met, I hope it is fine. Is this something to be concerned about, that it is not showing up as an interview but just an event? She did not do this by the request a one-on-one interview section, but requesting an appointment time during an event when the interviews were being held at a hotel.

Good luck to all the applicants!

jackief,

If your D did not sign up for an interview via her MyRoc account, then it probably won’t show up in her MyRoc account page.

If you give our office a call, we can open her file and make sure that she is “getting credit” for doing this interview. I highly recommend calling our office.

When you call, we can also tell you what application materials are missing / on their way.

Hopefully that helps!

Thank you Tyler, would it be worth calling now, or waiting until the payment and app complete shows up to be sure those are also correct? She has sports practice after school so I don’t know when she would have a chance during business hours, maybe on the next rainy day (ha ha) or would your office not mind if a parent called? Just want to be sure everything is set for EN but don’t mind waiting a bit if that is the best option.

It was in Sept, but I believe she signed up for the interview on the myRoc site, she had an account setup, but since it was an evening of interviews at a hotel, not an individual one with an alumn, I think it went through a different path and is therefore now showing up in a different area on the myRoc page.

I did decide to call. The delay in having the payment register on the myRoc page is to be expected.

For the interview, it seems they don’t have the report in her file, so they are going to have to look into that. If it doesn’t show up by mid-next week, we should check in again. I hope they find it, as D thinks it went really well. But I assume she will at least get “credit” for having done an interview even if the report is not found.
