One last Petroleum Engineering Question!

Alright everyone, I need some wise PetE advice one last time. :P I've narrowed my schools down to UT, A&M, LSU, and OU. (currently submitting applications to all 4)

UT - I will not be accepted, but am considering a transfer of some sort.
A&M - I could be accepted, provided a pretty SAT score this October and some smooth essays.
LSU & OU - Safety schools.

Now my question(s) to those willing to help:

Upon graduating from UT or A&M, how would Oil companies view a possible Junior College/Transfer route into a PetE degree?

Aren't UT and A&M practically PetE equivalents?

Is it worth it to attempt a transfer to UT or should I just focus on A&M admittance?

If I want to become involved in offshore drilling, does this rule out OU?

Why should I choose A&M's PetE program over that of UT? or vice versa.

Thanks everyone!

I would imagine a PetE degree is a PetE degree pretty much no matter how you got there.

I would say that they are pretty much equivalents.

I lived in Austin for 18 years (Austin is a great city, I just don’t think it’s a great college city) and could’ve gone to T.U. but College Station and A&M is a lot better. (Yes opinion) There’s something about being an Aggie that I don’t think anyone outside of the university can understand until they are actually one.

yes I have heard this alot TxAggie. Considering my mom and grandparents are aggies haha.

Are there any other factors out there differentiating between the two?

And so what I’ve heard is true? “It’s not how you get into the college it’s how you get out.”
