One last quick question about the application!!

OK so for activity summary questions 4 and 5 where they ask about an experience or an unusually hobby, I wrote a paragraph per question, each about 200 words long. Would that be fine? Or do they just want a couple sentences?

Thanks.

Anyone know?

I'm copying straight from the paper form of the application here. This is all of the information that we know. Follow it as closely as possible.

"Please describe your activities briefly, limiting the entire summary to one
side of a single page. For each activity, use this format: Name of activity;
grade(s) you were involved in it; number of hours per week; number of
weeks per year; description of the activity; your role(s). (Example: Spanish
Club; 9th–12th grade; 2 hours per week; 30 weeks per year; language
club dedicated to promoting the understanding of Spanish language and
culture; elected treasurer junior year and president senior year.)"

Strange, it doesn't say that on the online application.

I don't see that in the online one too...I wrote mine in a different format...

I'm not actually applying, so all that I can see is the online printable application. That's what I'm going from here. If it didn't say it on the actual online application, then you are probably fine.

As long as it fits the instructions of the online form, I'm sure it will be fine.

Last year, we were advised by a counselor to write it as a one-page resume and send it in as a hard copy. But our counselor, as many are, is more attuned to the paper app because the online form is really only a few years old. I think because of the overlap of paper vs. online apps, there are conflicting instructions. So, I believe, you won't be penalized for following one format and not the other.

I thought it was supposed to be brief, so I only wrote the activity and the year in high school I participated in it.

Is this ok, or should I contact USC to find out if I can elaborate and maybe add a description?

We did small descriptions- as long as it fit on one page.

I shortened both and they ended up being about 110 words each. Hopefully that's not too long.

Thanks for the help.

I just wrote the club, the year I was in, and the positions I held...

Nickel, I did the same thing.

Crap I just realized I was supposed to send a copy of my SATs via mail, and I didn't. Sending tomorrow won't disqualify me from the scholarship deadline, right?

If you sent it to them via the College Board, it should be fine.

That's what I thought. Thanks.
