One lecture lasts for ..?

Somehow I found out about jtf.cornell.edu and entered my account or something. There I found preassigned intro courses such as Econ101 and ILRID, etc..the page says ECON 101: TuTh 10:10AM - 11:00AM, 3 units

Does it mean ECON 101 class opens on Tuesday and Thurdays, each class lasting for just '50minutes'? So, one lecture (this one) lasts for 50 minutes?

Someone please explain it to me~ Thank you in advanceT.T

Funny, I thought a three-credit class would be 3days a week.

That's only the lecture, there is also a discussion component that he/she didn't list.

Yup one lecture lasts for 50minutes for econ as it says. You will be surpirsed on much the professors teach in just 50mins.

Oh, so we have to attend discussions? just one discussion per week? yes, i saw alot of discussion schedules right below the lecture schedule..

Yes...you select one discussion session. Two 50 minute lectures + one 50 minute discussion = 3 credits

THanks~~~!

I still find it kind of weird that they already signed you up for classes, I haven't seen anything like it.

Some students were pre-enrolled in classes by their adviser. Transfers were also able to pre-enroll over the summer.

Well.. in the future registration period, can i change those pre-enrolled classed to other times?

Yes...if you aren't happy with your current schedule you can change it during the add/drop period.

My current schedule is:
ECON 1110-----Intro Microeconomics----Instructor Staff
PAM 2030------Demography & Policy-----Instructor Hammer, Lichter
PAM 2300------Intro to Policy Analysis---Instructor, Avery
PSYCH 1101----Introduction to Psychology--Instructor Maas

Is this a full schedule besides my P.E. class and writing seminar, or will I choose other classes? Is there anything I should know about these classes, what to expect. Its so weird not to have like a math class or science class

Geeze the Pysch 101 has 895 students, how does grading and testing work there?

I've heard from multiple people that psych 101 with maas = best class ever

I already took Psych AP in high school, but I really want to take it again after what i've heard hahah

the engineering dept hasn't pre assigned classes yet for me :(

MadeInChina you have a typical freshman schedule. 5 classes (probably 15 or 16 credits) and a gym class. You'll be fine.

Cornell classes are either 50 minutes, 75 minutes, 2 hours (once a week), or 3 hours (once a week). The first two being the most common.

Prism123: They will, sometime after all of the preference forms are collected/went over -- they already started assigning advisors (you can see them at jtf.cornell.edu, on the right hand side, only know because my friend who's a freshman told me lol). They pre-enroll you but you can change it a lot -- but if you're pre-enrolled in chem 2090 and need to take it, try to schedule around your lab, as changing things for chem SUCKS because it's all on paper... :/.

is it a problem if i have 20 credits? (2 credits are support classes)

what classes are you taking? i've known engineers taking this much...

Hm..Bio101/103 +supplement, Chem207+lab+disc+supplement, pe, math171 +disc, fws
O wait..i think i just realized thats about 17 credits...but i also wanted to take HE100, which is 3 credits i believe?

Turtlefever: The schedule that you have right now is very common to the schedules for many biology majors. Btw, how is that 20 credits?

Well as of now you have 15 academic credits on your schedule which is good enough!
