One more Chance Thread? Please?

Hey guys,

I am trying to find out what colleges fit my stats and my interests. I live in NC and I really like Duke and Chapel Hill. Current sophomore, chances at Duke? (ED)

Stats:

Rank: 1/276
SAT: Taking in June, going for 2100+
SAT Subject Tests: Taking Biology and Math II next year. Going for 750+ on both.
GPA: 4.89 W, 4.00 UW (hope to have 5+ UW by the time I graduate)

All AP's I will take: (hope to make 4+ on all of them)

AP Calculus AB
AP Biology
AP English Language
AP English Lit
AP Human Geography
AP Psychology
AP US Gov't and Politics
AP European History
AP Physics B - self study

Note: I am taking the most AP's possible, the next best person is taking 5 throughout high school. Also, all of my other classes for Junior and Senior year are very difficult honors courses.

EC's:

Junior Class Officer Vice President
Student Council Representative
Founder and President of Science and Math club at school.
Treasurer of the Leo Club

Clubs: Leo Club (community service) Envirothon Team, Quiz Bowl Team, Spanish Club, National Honors Society, FCA (fellowship of Christian athletes), Math Lab (tutor kids in Algebra 1 and Geometry)
300+ hours of community service.

Sports: Good enough to be recruited by a small, division 2 school in track. Was 3rd in the state in the 800 meter run as a freshman.
Football: Varsity Kicker since this year.
Soccer: Played for 11 years.

Awards/Recognitions:

Accepted to and attending Summer Ventures in Science and Mathematics; a very selective one-month program for high school students in NC. Only accepts 250 students. Many kids who attend this program end up going to the Ivies, Duke, Wake, Emory etc.
Nominated for National Student Medicine Conference at Johns Hopkins University.
All A's through middle school and high school so far.
Scholar Athlete Award last year (only male winner)
I will also be going either to Governors School or Summer @ Brown next summer. Both are very prestigious programs.

So, am I on the right track to Duke? Anything I need to work on? Thank you very much! :) Sorry about having to read yet another chance thread, I know i'm not helping.

You seem like your on track, do well on the SAT/ACT and continue to do well in class and outside activities and you should be competitive. Come back next year or with some SAT scores and we’ll have a better idea.

ED definitely provides an advantage though.

^ Thank you! I think if I get a 2200+ on my SAT then everything will start falling into place.

Bump, anyone else?

Holy cow man. You are a trooper. Based on your grade, awards, and EC’s alone, I think you have a fairly great shot to your schools. And if you are really taking those amount of AP’s and still alive, you should be just fine.

^ Haha thanks! Those AP’s could very well kill me…

Does anyone think there is something I need to improve on?

Don’t bother self-studying ap physics b since that ap exam doesn’t get credited.

^ Oh okay, thanks for the info! I guess I will self-study AP ES then!

Anyone else have an opinion on my chances?

As others have said, I think your shot looks fairly good! Just be sure to distinguish yourself through your essays, and go ED if Duke is what you want!

Thank you! I definitely will!

Anyone else?
