One more class for UCSB Freshman

I was an AP student so I have some credits under my belt, the only class I was actually advised to take first quarter was Math 3A, which I will be taking. Sometime I will need at least one english/writing class and one history one. However, I cant decide. I really wanted to take a German class, history preferably, but only elementary german was available and I love the idea but I have already taken spanish during high school and passed the spanish AP exam so im not sure if taking german is a waste of my time, as the website doesn't really mention any areas that it might actually cover. My other options are Sociology of Human Sexuality or World History (I'm leaning more towards the former). I guess Sociology would help more right? But I would really enjoy taking german also. By the way I am a stats major. I guess the main question is... Is taking Elementary German useless?

It would appear so. Why not take a history/sociology class to get that history credit out of the way?

Take Human Sexuality! Coming from a current UCSB student, I can tell you that that class is one of the most popular classes on campus, and I’ve heard that the professors are amazing. Since you passed the AP Spanish Exam, you’re Area B requirement (Foreign Language) is already completed, so you wouldn’t be fulfilling any requirement by taking German, other than simply gaining units. If you do have some credit from AP classes though, you should have room to take German just for fun.
