One More College...

Hey there,
Some of my stats/info
GPA:3.8 (27/405)
ACT:35
ECs: President of 2 clubs, Class treasurer, Varsity Debate, Previous Work/Volunteer Experience at Summer Camp, XC 4 years, Tennis
Income Level: >250k
Location: NJ Public HS

Colleges that I have already applied to:
Pitt (Accepted into Dental)
Alabama (Accepted into Engineering with full tuition + 10k from engineering)
St. Joe's
Ohio State
South Carolina

I feel that I need one more school to try. Things I'm looking for:
-Big but not Penn State-sized campus
-Location: Not within major city like GW
-FOOTBALL! Big sports fan, would like an alma mater that I can cheer on
-Heavy merit scholarships because I will receive no financial aid
-Good academics with broad range of programs

Any help would be much appreciated!

University of Miami, though I don’t know what the deadline (if there is one) for the top scholarships is; might have had to apply EA.

Also, Florida State.

Do you want to be an engineer or a dentist?

Rutgers supposedly offers full rides to some high stats in-state applicants.

Regarding Florida State, note that it shares its engineering division with nearby Florida A&M, which is probably cheaper (it has an automatic full tuition scholarship for your stats). The engineering division campus is a couple miles away from the main campus of both schools, though.

“Heavy merit scholarships because I will receive no financial aid”

How much will your parents pay each year?

Will you be pre-dental? Is eng’g your “back up career”?

Georgia. South Carolina Honors.

I focused my major down to either pre-dent, engineering, or int’l business. I toured Rutgers and I hated it. My parents are willing to pay around 30k (what they paid for my sisters to go to James Madison) but would prefer that I received merit aid so I can go to a nice grad school like Penn or Harvard.

You can do eng’g and pre-dental so that you have a dual career choice. My son did Chem engineering and premed at Alabama, just in case he decided that going to med school wasn’t for him. In the end, he’s glad he did both. He’s in med school now, but he’s glad that he had his ChemE foundation.

Ok, thank you so much! Any other suggestions?

Looking for more advice

Mount Union - great tailgating and a national championship football game almost guaranteed. Seriously, we toured Mount Union and were really impressed.
