I know I've already done a chances thread, but I have a different question regarding my chances at UNC. I go to a pretty bad school. It's actually considered to be one of the worst and most violent schools in my county, and it's also new so there's not that many clubs. I've done extremely well compared to some people (I know a guy with a .1 GPA, and he's 330/335 in the class) and I'm in a lot of clubs. I'll link you to my chances thread to give you an idea of what I've done http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1296280-what-my-chances-get-into-unc.html The question I have is will going to a bad school (My parents are not rich enough to send me to private school and the schools around me are pretty rough) increase my chances or will the people who go to private schools still have the upper hand due to the amount of opportunities given?

Bump ba ba ba bump

bump…

Well, UNC probably isn’t going to meticulously research your school, so at first sight, no it wont increase chances.

But there still is a way, if you write about that in your essays, and show how you overcame the challenge and how it transformed you, that will definitely help you.
