I just wanted to get some ideas as to what would be a one more school I should apply to. I was thinking about Duke (Im interested in biomedical engineering and buisness), but the city was a real turnoff. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I recently applied ED to Northwestern. My SAT's are 2110 (750-math 650-crit reading 710- writing (9 essay). Math IIC- 750, American History- 750, Chemistry-710. I have taken 3 AP Tests to this date (Chemistry, American History, and World History) and I have received a 5 on each. I have always taken the hardest possible classes, and I continue to do so in my senior year. My gpa was 99 and i was ranked 12/330. I have received many honors for soccer which include ALL-Conference, MVP's, and Olympic Teams. I have held officer positions in Model UN, Science Research Club, and Math Team. My essays are all good, and I have other extensive community service work (most of which relates to soccer). To ease my feelings of anxiety, can anyone give me insight as to what I should be expecting when decision time comes around on December 15th. Will it be that thick packet, or that hated thin envelope?

Have you thought of Vanderbilt, Emory, Rice, Cornell, Miami (FL), Berkeley, Virginia, Michigan, UNC, etc. Your EC's and essay score could hurt you somewhat, but your GPA/SAT/ACT are outstanding. I think you've got a nice shot at most the schools I mentioned.

Duke is very strong in those fields and Chapel Hill a great college town is only 8 miles away.

my bad uvajoe, I am applying to Penn, forgot to mention (that is my number one choice)

I think Im probably going for a southern school (thanks for the advice, esp. KingJames)
