my recs should be very good, and my essay is (hopefully) well written.

Soooo my question is. I am applying to Yale, Georgetown, UNC, UVA, UMD, and Catholic U. I feel like Yale is a mega reach, gtown and UNC are moderate reaches, UVA is a borderline school and UMD and catholic are safe. I feel like I need one more school on UVA's level, one that i have a pretty good sho of getting in, but is also a very good school. can anyone suggest another school for me? preferably within 5 hours of md...

Andrew, do you attend Georgetown Prep in Rockville?

At any rate, I am not sure about what sort of environment you are looking for. And what is your prospective major? Do you have financial limitations? Schools like BC, GWU and NYU come to mind. Johns Hopkins and CMU would be good reaches, in case you had forgotten about them.

Out of state, I would think UVA would be harder to get into than UNC. Schools on the level of Colgate, Bucknell, Lehigh, Lafayette could fit, although you haven't said what type of atmosphere or location you're really seeking.

ok first off no, i go to calvert hall in Baltimore. second off, im thinking psychology and/or political science (international relations).

also, money is an issue...but my family has 4 kids in college, and a relatively low income, so im thinking i will get a good amount of aid. size is not that huge of a deal for me, but i need a school to be good both academically and socially. any other info i can provide, thanks guys!

If Boston isn't too far away, Tufts may be similar selectivity for you as UVA --and still would recommend BC with your interests. (Not sure about financial aid, though for either Tufts of BC.) Also, I understand Brandeis has decent merit aid.
