Would you recommend having a refrigerator for each person (one for me, one for roommate)... or is one enough for both?

How big is the room......how much are you storing in it? Some kids actually store food which is basically: two. If it is just a few drinks, you can share one fridge.

Univ. of Illinois only allows 1 fridge per room which really sucks. 1 for 2 or 3 people, doesn't matter. Pretty crazy.

Harsh........sharing for up to three......not much champagne in that box is there?

If there is already a normal fridge in the kitchen (shared w 3 others) should I still get a mini fridge for my room?

how mini are we talking

99 bucks half the size of a normal fridge

rolen- one should be fine.

to the OP- can't you get one and then if you feel the need for two, get another? i wouldnt get two if you have a full meal plan. you dont need to eat that much. if youre going to be cooking for yourself it might be needed... also think of how SMALL dorms are and how much space it takes up. seems unnecessary

unless your room is really big - two would take up an awful lot of room (even though they're "mini," they do take up space!). and generally one is really enough for two or three people - plus, i'm sure you can always put something in a friend's on your hall if you're really in a bind. i wouldn't worry too much about it... and i would try to save your money whenever possible!!

me and my roommate both had a fridge-we just piled them on top of each other and put her tv on top of that. it was fine.

i'm doing the one per roommate thing.
sorry, sharing a fridge sounds like it could cause unnecessary arguements about who ate what or more importantly, who drank what ;) besides, if it's really a MINI fridge, you won't have room for a lot anyway. pile a couple on top of eachother or use it as a stand for makeup/clock or whatever.

One should be enough, unless they are the really small ones
