One polished, one unique, one random and one thought provoking..Take your pick.

So far I’ve written four essays for the common application essay. I would like some input from those who are not applying this year (or in years to come, hahah). I know I sound snobby by saying that, but come on guys, it’s the internet. No offense against any specific individuals - just a precaution for my own sanity. :D

Let me introduce the four candidates,!!!

 1. "Significant Influence" This one has a nice parallel structure deal going on and people have called it “polished” and “sophisticated”

“Significant Experience”…except that experience hasn’t happened yet (I’ll compete in August, heheh). But this one has a unique approach. I have about 250 words left that will be devoted to the climax and conclusion. Knowledge of music is recommended

“Topic of Choice” Um. It’s really random, almost spastic. However, it DOES show personality. Somewhat.

“International Concern” Yup. How Korean education sucks and screws us all over. The conclusion is a work in progress. I will definitely need to change it.

So take your pick people. Of course, if you would like to read more than one, that’s always welcome too.

I’ll be applying to Yale (SCEA), Rice, Brown, Stanford, Duke, Princeton, Northwestern, UMich, Harvard and Emory.
Thanks to you all in advance! I really appreciate it :D

So you wrote four essays?! Well, if you're applying to those schools you'd better have good essays, so I'll take a look at all of them. ;) By the way, how do you get the green smily-face?

I'll critique all of them if you want. Having done some many, I'm getting good at critiquing essays.

You get a green smiley by doing : D but without the space..like this! :D

Okay, this better work... :D

YES!

Hey, I'd like to read all of them! :]

Can I read 1, 3 and 4? (Class of 2012)

I'm especially interested in seeing how you approached the 4th one. :)

Oh and there seems to be an abundance of green smilies (smileys?) in this thread, so.. gotta add on :D

Of course. Green smileys trump all other faces. :D :D I mean, c'mon they're green and all happy looking. You can't beat that.

PM me 2 and 3 ... they will be a great read i hope!! Here's mine ... :D

Well I definitely have knowledge of music...so I'd love to read 2 and 3 :D!

Hee hee dchow i think it's cute how you've had so many posts on CC and still don't know how to :D!

I'll read 1 2 4. :D

I'd like to read all of them. I actually do have fairly extensive knowledge of music so 2 is of particular interest. PM me.

Well, Merlin, if you don't give me a :D I don't think I can trust you to give me any useful advice! Hahah, just kidding. I just love how everyone has been giving me the green smileys. It makes mihan happy.

I'd like to read them all. PM me.

I like to be helpful. I guess..PM them all. =]

PM me.
10 char

May i read them all? Thanks

PM me, however I like to critique essays on how much you change them and I also like to see if you lost your voice during the revisions, they just help me critique your essay better overall. So send your drafts with your revised essays.....if you want of course...... =] =]

I'd read these...going to be a freshman.
send all, or if you want whichever one you want the most attention given to!
