one question....

what did everyone say for their reason why they chose emory? im stuck =(

Hmm. For me, the location, the campus, the academic programs, the great business school, the fact that I have family in the area and so on....

I had a lot, hence I applied early decision.

i said FAME, their ridiculously cool collection of antique books, OPUS, beaut, opportunities available - they asked besides the location, size, and reputation and they always like to hear that you know what your'e talking about and that you like specific things so i wrote the things that the guy on ym tours said they look for in that essay, lol

i came to emory bc i loved the southern weather but northerners (being from NY and all). they have a great science program, plenty of job opportunities at your fingertips, its just outside a great city, its beautiful and the campus is really easy to get around. everything about it was perfect for me.
that said, FAME is the worst thing ive ever taken part of in my life, by the way. i think theyll get rid of it soon bc no one likes it. its a waste of time. its great during orientation week bc its a good way to meet people and all, but after that, you have to sit through boring lectures or hear people speak, or even if you go out, you can do that on your own, its no fun to go with the group. the only good thing ive heard is one group got to see yerkes (the primate center) which i really want to go to but they dont give tours.

by the way, im a freshman. and im not looking to transfer. i love everything about emory now that FAME is over

It's a totally new expeirence for me which is why I chose it, plus being a top 25 school in the country helps as well, but if i actually had the stats the only school i would choose over emory is penn, which is hella ugly and in a ****ty part of town anyways, emory is much prettier

definitely the weather; you just have no idea how much weather affect your study. then of course the city. Atlanta is just amaaaaazing, not too crowded but it's definitely a metropolitan city, and plus its gorgeous.

right, but we weren't supposed to talk about the weather or location (or reputation or size) so we couldn't have really writeen what the asked for by saying the weather

bumpppppppppppppppp any answers? other than weather... location etc

I wrote profs. Don't try to copy ideas just make sure you are being honest... after all that's what they are looking for... (I really loved prof RK and the personal interest that the econ prof had on me (maybe cos I had told him that i didnt enjoy soc studs)

Sorry for spamming just dont know how to edit -.-;
One more thing... one thing I heard when I went to visit is that they dont want to hear things they already know such as weather and blandishments of the location and so on... Be creative, unique: be yourself
