One Response Already, Chance Me On The Rest Please

Male, Caucasian
I go to a pretty large public school in CT (about 400 in my grade)
School doesn't rank, but I know I'm in top 5%
GPA Weighted: 4.05/5 Unweighted: I think around 3.9/4.33

Courseload:
Freshman Year: Biology Honors, Geometry Honors, Spanish Honors, Western Humanities A, English B (there was only A and B and the next year A turned into honors, so B was the normal class), Band, and other electives (No Free Periods)

Sophomore Year: Chemistry Honors, Algebra 2 Honors, Spanish Honors, US History, English A, Band, and other electives (No Free Periods)

Junior Year: Physics A (Honors not offered), Precalculus Honors, AP Statistics, AP Spanish Language, AP Economics, Caribbean Literature, Research and Literature, Band, and other electives (No Free Periods)

Senior Year: AP Physics C, AP Calculus BC, AP Spanish Literature, American Government A, Irish Literature, Contemporary American Literature, Medical Terminology, Biotechnology (2 Free Periods)

Awards: Nominee for Connecticut Governor's Scholar Award (One junior from each HS, based on GPA and PSATs), Conference Scholar Athlete of the Month (September, 2007), Nominee for Scholar Athlete of the Year (2007), First Team All-Conference (soccer, 2007), First Team All-Area (soccer, 2007)

ECs: Soccer (Varsity junior and senior years, Varsity captain senior year, also on team outside of school that requires a very large commitment), National Honors Society (junior-senior years, nominee for president), volunteer at local soup kitchen (5-10 hrs/wk, 2006-present), Volleyball (Varsity sophomore and senior years, did not play freshman and junior due to conflicts with soccer, JV captain sophomore year), high school pep/marching band (freshman-junior years, 1st seat trumpet), literacy tutor for underprivileged children (2005-2006, 5-10 hrs/wk), Spanish National Honors Society (junior-senior years), founding member of church youth group (2004-2006, 2 hrs/wk)

Work Experience:
Busboy/Cook at local pool and ice skating rink snack bar (6/07-present, 10-35 hrs/wk), intern in the Division of Functional Brain Mapping at Columbia University Medical Center (6/07-8/07, 30 hrs/wk)

Recommendations should be pretty solid
Essays were pretty good, I'm just not a good writer so I have some doubts but others liked them

Already applied ED to Columbia and got deferred (a bit of a surprise because I had a summer job there, my dad is a Columbia employee, I had two supplemental recommendations from Columbia alums, and I had an amazing interview)

Anyways, I'd like to know my chances at the following schools, but mainly I want to know about MIDDLEBURY (I know it's pretty much the opposite of Columbia but I love it for various reasons)

Boston College
Cornell ALS
Dartmouth
Duke
George Washington
MIDDLEBURY
Villanova
Boston University
UPenn
Brown
Yale
UConn (Honors program)

IN - BC, Cornell, Dartmouth, Duke, BU, Brown
OUT - Yale
Don't know - The rest

I'm pretty sure you need 3 SAT 2s for Yale, but I could be mistaken

You sound good for the schools that I know about which are the same ones as the person above me. Sorry I couldn't help with your top choice. If its at the same leave as Cornell, Boston College, Dartmouth (My dream school), and Duke, I'm sure you have a good shot. Sounds like you're a very ambitious person though. Good Luck!

Boston College- IN
Cornell ALS- high match/low reach
Dartmouth- low reach
Duke- high match/low reaach
George Washington- IN
MIDDLEBURY- match
Villanova- IN
Boston University- IN
UPenn- low/mid reach
Brown- low/mid reach
Yale- reach
UConn (Honors program)- IN

My guesses

Accepted
Boston College: In
George Washington: In
Villanova: In
Boston University: In
UConn (Honors program): In

Likely Accepted
MIDDLEBURY: Likely in

You Gotta Chance
Cornell ALS: Maybe- slight reach
Dartmouth: Maybe- reach
Duke: Maybe- slight reach
UPenn: Maybe- Reach
Brown: Maybe- Reach
Yale: Big Maybe: High Reach

I'd say your chances at Middlebury are about the same as your chances at Cornell. Middlebury may be a tougher bet this year due to last year's overenrollment.

thanks a lot guys
anyone else have any opinions?

anyone??
