I've taken Honors Algebra 2, Trig/AP Calc A, AP Calc BC, and AP Stats in math. I've had mostly B's, 2 A's, and 2 C's. Without this, my GPA would probably be around 3.9. As it is, it stands at 3.65 UW, 4.45 W. Will colleges still see that I've excelled elsewhere to reconcile this subject? Especially in the context of a 35 ACT and great EC 's.

My school is a top public school in my state.

The decision probably depends on what type of college you are applying to – if applying to a large state school with tens of thousands of applications, then the reps might not see this context; if applying to a college where reps actually “read” applications, then yes, your grades would be viewed in context and they would see the two Cs as the outliers.

Yes, I’m considering schools like Notre Dame and Northwestern, for example. Although the C’s were 2nd semester soph. and 1st semester junior, I hope that the ensuing recovery is relatively positive.

Any other opinions?
