Hi, I'm new to these boards even though I've been lingering around for a little while. I just have one question (I'm on the verge of deciding...haha), is housing guarunteed for all first year students? (I read somewhere that implied that it wasn't, but I could have just misinterpreted)

Anyway, thanks and all that.

I'm pretty sure that as long as you accept the housing offer and pay the deposit (after accepting/paying deposit for the admissions offer) housing is guaranteed. This is the first year that's been true though, because of opening all those new dorms - so that could be why it sounded awkward.

Good luck making your decision!

yay to laney for joining

Oh my! Letting everyone in on my secret identity ;)

Congratulations for getting in :D

Yes, housing is guaranteed for all first year students who accept by the deadline McGill gives you on your application sheet.

If you were reading older material, that is probably where you got the impression that housing wasn't guaranteed, because it was only after the addition of Solin Hall and New Residence that McGill could guarantee housing to all first years.

Thanks a lot for responding...you're all very helpful. :)
