The colleges that I am applying to require 3 SAT II's, so my question is as follows: lets say I got an 800 on the Math IIc, a score in the high 700's for German, and the same in Physics. Will it hurt me that at another test taking, I only got a 570 on the SAT II lit? (It obviously, therefore, would not be one of my top 3 scores).

well, if they don't consider the 4th score, ur fine

Okay,
that's what I figured. I was just worried that since the admissions officers will see all of the scores, my one low score might make them think "wow... he knows nothing about literature" or something like that, and that it might hurt me that way.
thanks.

haha, I'm kinda in the same boat:

770 Math Ic, 800 IIc, 770 Chem, 740 Bio M... let's not go into my US History SAT II (but I got a 4 on the AP Exam!!!)

Thanks CollegeHereI_Come!
I am glad to hear that I am not alone. Hopefully those adcoms wont worry about one abysmal score.

I have the same problem, 760 math IIC, 760 US history, 770 writing but 650 on bio :( i hope that doesn't hurt me too! I'm just not a science-y person and I took the bio one in 9th grade...

Im in a pretty bad situation too. 750 IC, 600 Lit (4 on Lit exam)!!

lol yeh same here i got 800 chinese, 780 maths and 710 lit..and 640 chem. rite now im going to pretend the chem score is not there:D Im not even writing it on my application!

Me tooo....790 writing 770 us history 770 lit and 580 math IC....

u kno... if u guys are really paranoid about that one score showing up there's this service from CB that can "hold" a subject test score, the only drawback is that it costs $$ for EACH score report you want the score held from.

jennyz365 I am almost positive that that is not possible anymore

yea that would be for ap scores, not sat2

ok i just read on the cb website that was discontinued after 2002, sorry guys

Kind of along the same lines...if I had a 770 US-H, 730 Math I, and 660 Physics (all taken in June) but just now got an 800 MIIC and a 760 Physics, will they hold the first two scores against me? I'm applying ED to Cornell so I just hope they see my new scores before deciding on me...

live-
i think you are in a different situation in that you retook the SAME subject and did better, as opposed to just ignoring it and doing better in another section. I think that colleges will be TOTALLY fine with what you have. A 660 isnt even that bad.

is it bad to just ignore it? like, i know i suck at math, but i know i can do better than a 580 in math IC but i'm just like...eh, i probably will get low 700's. the reason i got so low for 580 was b/c i was sick but thought i was okay. which i really really wasn't.

like, i just completely haven't taken anything in a math subject at all. it's just history, lit, and writing. i don't plan to major in anything math/science related.
