One Week Left, What Should I do?

Hello fellow College Confidential members,

I have one week left until I take my first SAT (March 8th) and I'm currently a Junior. I am hoping to be able to break 2200 to not have to worry about it too much about it later on since I have many APs and have to take my ACT. On my PSAT this year I got a 1900 without any studying whatsoever, since I thought why study for it since it's just practice. My breakdown was Math: 680 Reading: 620 Writing: 560. For this one I have been studying, however I'm not sure how effective my study methods are and would like to know if there is anything else I can do this last week to improve my score. I am willing to dedicate as much time as humanly possible this week by the way. My current study habits have included completing the SAT Question of the Day, Completing the SAT Vocab available on Magoosh's iPhone app (300 words I believe), Taking two full length practice tests two weeks ago as diagnostics (Blue Book test #2 and #3) I received a 2020 and a 2060 according to their breakdown, which I feel may have been a bit too generous. Also I have been doing sections of the practice tests in the blue book here and there and now I'm on practice test 5. I am planning on taking a full length practice test today and tomorrow, one on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday (I don't know if this is a good idea, since my SAT is on Saturday) and reviewing everything you guys can tell me. I reviewed Quiggi's guide and Silverturtle's guide but was wondering if there are any other of these extremely helpful guides you guys can provide me links to. I am completely open to all suggestions so please let me know what you think I should do to reach my target score. Also based on my PSAT scores I think I should focus the most on writing and reading, are there any writing rules that are always tested I can learn? Any tips for my essay? Any special tips for the reading section? Even for the math which was my "best" score how should I study for it? Thank you very much for taking the time to read this and help me.

@meumeu Thanks!

…and don’t forget a good night sleep the night before with a good balanced breakfast (and avoid carbs)

@blackhole22 what would you consider a good breakfast?

Something with a good supply of protein and vitamins (I heard too much carbs / oily foods can induce sleepiness) so probably something like boiled eggs and a variety of fruits. I also heard oatmeal and yogurt are good. Hope this helps!

@blackhole22 thanks for the advice! I’ll make sure to avoid the fatty foods
