One year activites

I am currently a sophomore and I'm thinking of going out for track for the season, but I'm unsure because I don't know if I want to continue the sport next year. Freshman year I was on the bowling team, but I'm not sure how it would look to colleges if I only stayed in my sports for one year. My question is, is it better to do track this year and have colleges scrutinize my "passion" and "dedication" or to leave it out all together?

Don't NOT do something because of college! Who knows, maybe you'll love it and keep doing it! You don't need to put it on your ec's sheet if you don't want to, right? Also, if you have other things you're committed to, it should be absolutely fine.

And I am SO jealous that your school has a bowling team. You have NO idea.

You could still mention them in your app but then in your essays describe it. You can write about how you didn't really know what you liked so you spent the first few years of high school trying new things. Then some more bs about how you grew into your own person.

Idk, just a suggestion

^ Yeah. I'd definitely try to DO WHAT YOU WANT, then bs into an "highschool was a time for growth for me" kind of thing

I think I'll go ahead and do it, just to have something there.

Do what you want, not what you think colleges may want.
