One year later, still struggling with calc

So...poor D is still struggling with calc. She attempted it as summer school at a local 4-year college last summer but didn't get a grade that Tulane will accept.

Now this summer she's staying at Tulane to do it...and is struggling dreadfully. She is truly trying, she's engaged a tutor for several hours, and has met with the professor a couple of times. He acknowledges that she's trying, but has no magic bullet to help her succeed. D is meeting with academic advisor tomorrow in advance of the final on Friday but is not sure what to ask or say. She feels she just doesn't understand calc.

At this stage, she's quite worked up. It's a prereq for her PH major, and she can't see a path forward.

Any practical advice anyone could share?

Thanks in advance?

No real advice, just offering my condolences. Long calc II is the worst grade on my transcript and I’m a pre-med cell & molec major. Calc kills me.

How about taking it at a local junior college (assuming the hours can be accepted by Tulane)? It may be less rigorous

Junior colleges aren’t acceptable to Tulane.

Thx Schmls -bad grade but you passed? What happens if a student can’t pass a required class. is that $150K down the drain?

Smart kid, good GPA, but can’t do calc.

Not sure what her next move is.
