One year transfer to UCLA or private?

Okay so basically I’m a high school senior who will be attending college in the fall, and I didn’t get accepted into UCLA, but I got into a private school with a full scholarship, what I wanted to do was to transfer after two years into UCLA because I don’t want to graduate from that specific private school…

  1. Is it hard to transfer from a private to a UC?

My second option was to attend a program at a community college and after a year of the program, I would transfer. But I really didn’t want to attend CC.

If I were to do that, and apply for FAFSA the year I attend UCLA

  1. Would my financial aid decrease?
  2. Would I be able to use my financial aid that was not used the previous year?
  3. Would I be able to use the left over money from my financial aid to study abroad the year I would attend UCLA?
  4. What would you do? help me smart people of the Internet

Would be much harder (if not impossible) to transfer from a private to UCLA especially if that private is of the type which you don’t have any desire to gratuate from even with a full scholarship!
A CCC transfer is a more feasible recourse.

Agree with @uclaparent9.

Probably, but it depends. Are you a CA resident? If no, then yes your financial aid will most assuredly decrease.

No. Financial aid awards are specific to the school that awards them.

Not sure how you’d have “left over” money. Probably no. Same as above.

You haven’t talked about “why” you aren’t thrilled with the private school. My first inclination would be to stay at the private college with a full scholarship and enjoy starting my career debt free.

Good luck!
