Hey Guys,
I am signing up for my classes next year (12th Grade); I am trying to take 6 AP courses next year but I have to finish some courses that will meet graduation requirements and those courses will not meet those requirements. I am trying to take AP Spanish Language online right now but I cannot find any website that can offer it. I am planning on taking Honors Physics or AP Physics 1 along with an honors art class or any AP Art class all over the summer, so that I can take all of the desired courses for next year (AP Calculus BC, AP English Language, AP Biology, AP Psychology, AP US Government, AP Capstone - Research). I want to take AP/honors classes so that my GPA also goes up. Is it possible to take any AP class over the summer, just to boost my GPA and meet graduation requirements? (Before someone says that I shouldn’t take 6 AP’s, I just wanted to say that these courses at my school are known to be very easy, and not necessarily overwhelming. I am taking 4 AP’s right now and I ended last semester with a 4.36 GPA.) Any help/ suggestion on where I can find online AP/honors courses that I can take anytime would be appreciated! :))
You are getting a C in Calc AB, why do you think BC is easy? I really don’t understand what you are trying to do. You seem to have an unhealthy obsession with GPA.
I wouldn’t place as much emphasis on your GPA. My friend did something similar but packed her schedule full when she didn’t have enough time to study for her courses so it dropped her GPA instead. I think we all think we will study harder or have more time than we actually do so I would ask your counselors for advice first. Also, to answer your question, double check with your counselors that your school accept the online courses because I believe they won’t count towards your GPA. One way you can do this is to check the summer school schedule in your area and take it as a summer class :). Hope this helped, best of luck!
A later thread said the OP ended the first semester with a B in Calc AB and in AP Chem.
I agree, though, that more APs is not better.
