How can I access my online profile. I only have the Fordham ID.

That’s all you need to set up username and password, which then lets you log in. My daughter did. Don’t know the details, but it must be fairly straightforward.

got it! where to go to check missing documents or application status?

When/how did you get a Fordham ID?
I don’t think I have one… :/

My D got her ID when they sent a letter stating they had got her application. This was back in December. Hopefully you saved it if you got one too (which you should have).

Wowowow… How come I didn’t get one either?
I did get a letter stating that my application has been received and that in case of any missing documents, they would send me an email. When I read the letter, I thought everything was fine so I didn’t wonder why there wasn’t an online portal or something like that…
The letter doesn’t give any ID or account username at all I’m an international applicant though, anyone in the same situation as me?

@westie22,
I will check that letter but I don’t remember getting an ID…
I have a list of IDs though so maybe it’s there.

Nevermind, I do have an ID… It’s on my list.

Does anyone know the website to check you status?

Go to my.fordham.edu/

Fordham doesnt do online status checks. If there is a problem, they will notify you, trust me. Sometimes they ask for information on FAFSA, which may be related to federal requirements and other statistical data, to ensure they are administering the programs appropriately, which they are. Its their policy to send out notices by snail mail, and not to do online notices. Some schools that have online notifications have had some very embarrassing moments telling hundreds of students they got in, when in fact they didnt. Some of these schools are very high ranking schools (no names here because I dont do that…its just anecdotal information for you all.)

I would personally favor a more digital friendly process, but its one of Fordham’s ways of doing things, and it is what it is. Every school has quirks.

Its a wonderful place to attend college and I wish everyone the best of luck. It will all be over very, very soon. Be patient.

And to those trying to backdoor the system, that is tried every year and often met with more frustration than success. You are better off just being patient and find a healthy distraction until the week of March 24-31.

For those who are admitted, I recommend strongly going to the admitted student orientation (either the weekday program with admissions and a dean, or the weekend of April 15 and meeting Fr. McShane), particularly if you are on the fence and trying to decide between 2 or 3 schools. Its not mandatory and nothing earth shattering…but you do meet your fellow classmates and talk to people…it sure helped us decide!

For those waitlisted or rejected, I empathize and wish you the very best. Pick up the pieces, dry your tears and move along. Focus on the school(s) who accepted you and move forward. This too shall pass. (It happens to most of the people out there, somewhere…so you are not alone).

I’m not sure what it means to “backdoor” the system, but my daughter got a letter from Fordham in January explaining how to log onto my.fordham.edu, where she did receive messages regarding her financial aid application (they also telephoned and sent a print letter-- they are quite thorough.) I don’t think you can check status beyond seeing that your FA documents were received.

^^^^ every year people try to find out their status by using financial aid stuff…and using MyFordham etc…

I understand the frustration and anxiety. Been there, done that. Its not fun. But its a right of passage for tens of millions every year. Made more difficult by Fordham’s policy on sending snail mail written notices. I empathize. I’m just saying people shouldn’t try to game the system and find out if they have been admitted in advance by using online financial aid etc. Its just going to generate more frustration. (I don’t have any stats on the success rate of that either, lol.)

I wish everyone the very best. I totally get the frustration. Hang in there…and try some healthy distraction for another 10 days or so. THis too shall pass. (March Madness is a good way to do that! Creighton beat Alabama today; St. Bonaventure took Florida State to the wire!)

So sorry everyone! We didn’t get the ID on the letter about receipt of application, not sure where we got it from. Anyway like glassharmonica or sovereigndebt said you can’t use the site to check your admittance status anyhow. It’s just to check the status of your financial aid forms.

I had no intention of implying that you can “game the system” or whatever sovereigndebt is talking about. I was certainly not advocating any kind of cheating.Just trying to be helpful. All I know is that my.fordham is the online portal. You can view finaid documents there before acceptance. After you are accepted (in my daughter’s case, by a postal notification), a few days later there is a student tab.

^^^…relax glass…its all good. I was just pointing out that this occurs every year as people get anxious…which I understand. Not accusing anyone of cheating…just pointing out that posting that stuff (searching admission status online) here may give people the wrong impression that its possible to find out online before they get their packages/letters. It only leads to greater frustration and anxiety.

That some few may have been lucky to see something online that ended up being correct when their package arrived doesn’t mean its a successful method for all. Its better for everyone just to leave it alone and wait for the package.

I have a lot of empathy for admissions people at Fordham, though the process is quirky. They get more than 33,000 applications, times the number of recommendations, transcripts, financial aid forms, etc. Then they have to decide who is in the 42% who get in and who is in the 58% who don’t. Then they get frantic calls from people for a variety of reasons. Now this “glitch” for online financial aid information.

I’m glad your daughter was accepted. Welcome to Fordham (if its this year’s class.)
