online book purchase

does anyone suggest using the online book purchase thing? i'm just wondering if they'd give us the worst books if we buy used online and you wotn be able to return it

Go to Amazon.com, they seem to have more books available than many other companies. The shipping is faster (same shipping category, of course, B&N seems to take a lot of time wrapping).
The condition of the books surely depends on the deal, but I 've always gotten books that are better than I expect.

Amazon shipped my books and I received it in 3 days: standard shipping for 4 books for ~$8.

Not to mention it's cheaper for new books than it is to buy used from bkstr or Neds.

thanks, but i had the berkeley campus store online thing in mind. Amazon does seem really good though.

I haven't had a problem with used books from the Cal bookstore. The only thing that sucks is that there is typically a LONG line the first week for picking up books. It moves pretty quickly, but it's still a pain.

So, if we buy the books online (used or otherwise), we have to pick them up in Berkeley, or are they shipped to us?

I was checking it out and it seems we can have them shipped to us...but I don't see a way to figure out the change in cost...is there one? How long does it take to get them?

That's what I'm thinking...since I'm only here at home for another four days...

grrr...I just tried to purchase (decided on store pick-up), and then the page went to "Cannot Find Server."

Soo now I don't know if it charged me or not...

what does it mean to reserve books at Ned's? http://www.nedsbooks.com/ucb/outerweb/textbook_reservations.asp?mscssid=T75FCC5G1ABB8N3FJPFFF50LV31SF4AA

Should I reserve or just buy my books?

Comegetused.com is a better option! Help out other students trying to get rid of their books! I'm meeting the sellers on campus so I don't have to pay shipping. They all seem really, really nice and we exchange phone numbers and it's all very civil.

www.bn.com

Barnes and Noble offers you shipping in 3 days FREE if you spend $25 or more. I got my books quickly, and they have a return policy that's wonderful. I'm also a BN member so I get additional discounts.

wat is valore books? at valorebooks.com...is it any good?

I used Overstock.com...excellent prices!

The B&N shipping option is good to know about, thanks eiffel. :) I haven't decided if I want to become a member, but in the long run I'm sure it pays for itself.

campusi.com is a good one, i got it from someone haha
