Online Business in Application?

How would I go about describing a business that I ran online for a few years?
From November, 2013 to June of 2017, I ran an online blog, discussion, and education forum. Historical in nature- mostly centered around the early modern era (got a lot of pirate lovers for some reason…). It was a discussion board by and large; got a TeamSpeak set up, really built a community with whom I still share contact. I got into web coding thanks to my dad, and I made the site with some school friends. From there, it grew; and though my friends abandoned it to focus on academia, I was the project head alone for a full 3 years.

I ran it- managed moderator positions, I created events. I’ve written approximately 497 12pt 1.5sp pages of guides, information, and research as well as organized online discussions. Had to code 2 sites from the ground up (first site I did have help, I admit, from real life friends). I had a shop which I ran for donations, merchandise, and benefits on the site- made upwards of 3.5k profit in the website’s entire lifespan (probably a bit more, since in the beginning I forgot to keep a sharp log of profit/expenditure but I do have a recorded $3,609 and something cents)

How would I describe this in my college app? I think it shows entrepreneurship, managerial skills, maturity, and an understanding of legal matters. Unfortunately, to me, saying “ran blog” sounds dumb in my head. So how would I describe this in my full list of activities and outside extracurriculars?

Forgot to mention and ask- for the record, anyone here ever browse The New World? Had it set up on JimDo, later on SquareSpace? Not selling it off btw, it’s long offline, but I was wondering if anyone here ever browsed the site.

When applying to other colleges on either common app or other UC applications there is a strict method of work input that they want.

The time frame and hours should suggest the amount of hard work you put into working for your company. Big colleges enjoy seeing how much of an impact you had on the world with the amount of work you have down.

Putting in the time should just be from this month to this month and no specific day. They just want a general time frame of work input.

@Bumble3000 Ah, gotcha. Yeah, I’m not too caught up with the Common App structure, like with Naviance and what not. How should I explain the project- summarize the concept, summarize my duties, or list off everything I did with it?
