Hello,

Im looking for an online class provider so that I can take some science courses. It doesn't have to be strictly AP, Im interested in studying biochemistry, physics, and astronomy. If anyone has any experience taking classes online, could you talk about how your individual program was like? (difficulty, quality of teaching, etc). Also, it would be preferable if the sessions haven't started yet, as I would like to take some in the fall. Thanks!

Go ask on the homeschool forum, they have lots of experience in the area. If you want to start classes now, it will probably be asynchronous, meaning that it will not have a set meeting time with everyone doing it at the same pace. Rather, you will be given a time period to complete the material. There may be some late starting semester classes but I don’t know them. You could enroll in such classes in the spring.

There are lots of online providers. A lot of universities offer high school classes including U of Missouri, Indiana, and Texas Tech. You have some state programs that are open to out of state students like the Florida Virtual High School. And then there are providers like Keystone High School and Oak Meadow. Some schools will be better than others and like all schools, things will vary according to instructor. Some are very good at the online environment, others are just picking up a paycheck.
