Online class: will this count for state schools? Low grades senior year please help!

Im a senior in highschool, and just started my second semester. I recieved a D+ in first semester freshman english and for state schools/universities require that you have a C or better to apply. on my application i put "planned" because i am going to start to retake that english class online this semester. Will colleges (san francisco state in particular) accept this? On the sfsu school website, they said they need a full transcript with all completed required courses done by july 14. i can easily finish the online course by then. Will they accept this?
p.s. my guidance counselor did not inform me to retake this class or that i needed to in order to go to college until it was too late. He's not the best counselor so please help!

To make matters worse, i received two D's first semester senior year in math and chemistry. I had been off of adderall, and had a lot going on family wise. Will this ruin my chances? I have a 3.2 gpa for grades 10-12 (which is what the state schools asked for) and a 2.8 overall. Im applying as an art major also. Are my chances ruined? (Particularly for SFSU)
