This question goes not only for colleges but for boarding schools, internships, summer schools, and other programs/schools that require a mid-year transcript.

I'm taking several online classes this year that are run through Virtual Virginia, and in my school, final grades for these classes would be entered after the general deadline for applications to the programs. Thus, I'm worried that my transcript would look like I'm slacking, since I'm essentially taking two free blocks out of eight; however, I am doing so only to take these classes online, and I'm taking up to the maximum number of credits per year with among the most rigorous course schedules in my grade.

In what light do colleges/schools/summer programs view online classes? And do they take into consideration the discrepancies between online classes and mid-year transcripts?
