online classes

Hey I was just wondering what everyone's opinion on online classes. I'm taking a 1:50-2:45 MWF that I don't want to take bc its a 3 hour gap between my morning classes. I can take the class (theatre 110) online tho but i'm not sure if i should. I've taken online classes at community college (2 years ago) and did well in some but poorly in others because I didnt put the time+effort required bc it was online.

You certainly don’t want to take online courses if you can’t be bothered to spell out the word “because” online.

this is a forum you ****ing idiot.

If you know you don’t have the discipline to do the necessary work in an online class you should probably avoid it.

I’ve taken a few online classes and it is really hit or miss. I’ve had online classes with so much work it is like taking three traditional classes. And I’ve had some that were ridiculously easy and a total waste of time. Fortunately, most have been somewhere in the middle.

How long do you have to drop a class without getting penalized? You may try signing up for the online class and giving it a week (or however long you can without losing money/getting a W) and if you don’t like it switch to the regular class.

Have you looked into getting an on campus job to fill in those three hours?

You said in your other post that you have taken online classes before only did good in some and no so good in others because of the effort and time you had to put into it. That being the case I would not take anymore online classes. I took two online classes last quarter and aced them and taking an online and a hybrid (50% percent in class 50% online) because I know that I can handle the work.

I took a theatre class online, and it was probably my hardest online class. It was all just reading, and the test were so detailed it was crazy. If I got a chance to take the class again I would just take it on campus.

Online classes are definitely hit or miss. I’ve had great ones that I really enjoyed taking online and terrible ones with unorganized teachers and really annoying students.

But I guess you could say the same with any kind of college class!

i took an macroeconomics online. didnt have to meet for live discussions or anything, just had to post in some discussion at least twice a week, and then complete homework assignments by a certain day. she would email the exam out and we would email the answers back to her within 48 hours. most of the answers could be found online lol but regardless, i recommend it from my experience
