I would love to be a part of this if it actually happens.

I would definitely be apart of this!

Any aspiring mathematicians? We could form a polymath project to work on a problem from the Open Problem Garden:
http://www.openproblemgarden.org

Could I join if any of this happened?

We should all start something amazing that would look great on college applications.

I’m in for the club

If anyone is interested, I’ve created a Polymath Project group. The ultimate goal is to create a real, high-quality research project in mathematics. In addition to being incredibly interesting, this will look great on college applications (especially those that allow research paper submission, e.g. Caltech; and those that allow abstract submission, e.g. MIT).

There should be USABO group or a bioinformatics group… This online club idea is sounding good to me. >:D<

@DiscipulusBonus: How did your USABO group work last year?

It would be nice to have a non STEM related group for those of us that plan on going into a LAC

I think DiscipulusBonus will handle the math club very well, so I say we also create a group for humanities/social sciences. Debate club?

Yeah, Debate could work

I love this. It sounds very interesting and a great opportunity to connect with intelligent kids from all over the world. Count me in.

A community service club might be a beneficial by giving students interested a place to have a constant source of ideas, resources and people who have experience starting/maintaining community service efforts. It can be hard to get involved in community service on a large scale, and the resources out there can be grim. However, success in such endeavors definitely pays off in the long run.

A couple of pro-social ideas:

Free tutoring! Gather a bunch of people with various specialities and offer free tutoring to those who need it.

Web design for non-profits. I’ve always wanted to do something like this, and it could be interesting in a group format.

Free tutoring and Web Design are both something that I would be interested in.

I could certainly do tutoring and web design. We should totally start groups for that.

I would be interested in doing tutoring!

So apparently we’re not allowed to link to other pages (not even google groups) and as tutoring is prohibited in this website, they may want to close the thread because of what we’re talking about… (which I hope they don’t)

So if something happens I’ll PM y’all.

For now, I think we should organise ourselves.

Agreed

Did anyone not receive the message?
If yes, contact me.
