I am a rising senior who has just started filling out the common app online. Everyone I have talked to says "why not fill it out online, it's faster and easier and the colleges prefer it". I'm sure they do.

That's why I'm nervous and frustrated that I might have to send in my application on paper, because the online common app is not working for me!

For instance, I went to list my work experience, figuring I'd start with my current job and work backwards. But after struggling for several minutes with the formatting I have concluded that there's no good way to indicate that I worked 30 hours per week last summer, 5 hours per week during the year, and 30 hours again this summer. No way to say the job is current/ongoing either--I'd think that would be pretty basic!

These kinds of things are popping up constantly as I try to fill out the application. Should I just give up and go back to paper, or is there a way I don't know about to get around this?

Sorry if this is posted in the wrong place or if it's a silly question. I'm wondering if perhaps other people are experiencing this same frustration with the Common App (which is theoretically supposed to make our lives easier?)
