Have any of you taken some online classes at a CCC? I'll be taking 2 in the Fall from Santa Monica College, and will probably take some from Berkeley City College as well. Which other CCCs offer a lot of online courses that are ALL online (as in no mandatory orientation/proctored exam, as is the case of CCSF). Thanks for the help!

I’ve taken a couple at my local CCC and the university that I transferred from. Antelope Valley college has a couple full online courses, pretty much any CCC has a couple of full online courses where you don’t have to go onto the campus at all.

I can’t speak for all CCCs, but my CC does offer a handful of all online classes. While some online classes require you to arrive for the final. I’ve only had that happen for CS classes. The GE classes are the kind that offer only online.

Robelius, which CC do you go to?

My college offers a lot of online classes and I’d say 75% don’t require orientation, those would be the non hardcore classes such as poli sci, sociology, history, etc…

Moorpark College

Riverside Community College

Foothill College has a lot.

Awesome guys! Thanks a bunch! Any particular classes/professors you’d recommend? I’m looking for IGETC courses…I’ll have to do most of my major pre-reqs in person over the summers (thinking bio) though I might try to add another major in history once (if wishful thinking) I transfer. Right now, I’m signed up for Art History 2 with Myer and Sociology I with Gheytanchi through Santa Monica College for Fall 2013. Might add another though

I go to Santa Rosa Junior College. The only GE on the top of my head is Anthro 1. It satisfies your life science.

I relied on Chabot College for online classes when my local college (Los Medanos) had conflicts with my schedule. The majority of the teachers were careless, but I got some really good ones as well. Also, most of my IGETC classes were satisfied online: History, Astronomy, Spanish were the main ones.

Thank you everyone! I plan to take a lot of Art History, History, Sociology, Political Science and English, as well as one or two Economics and Anthropology ones, online for IGETC. I’d love to do more classes in-person, but my strange work schedule simply doesn’t allow that. I’ve been looking up the teachers on ratemyprofessors to get a sense of how they teach. I understand some teachers may be fabulous in general, but perhaps don’t put the same effort, time or passion into their online classes

If you’re taking sociology take it at MOORPARK online with DAn Vierra look him up on ratemyprofessors he’s the best ever even online!
