Online Courses for Credit

I was wondering how those who have taken online courses for credit in high school went about doing so. What website/program do you do it through, how did your high school accept the credit, etc... Thanks!

My state had a virtual public school where the classes were free, so I just registered for a few of them, and when they ended (~middle of may), my grades were sent to my high school and put on my transcript. I believe that your guidance counselor has to approve whatever online classes you want to take before you can begin. There are several virtual schools that I know of, but a lot of them are state-specific. I know there is one for California and North Carolina, but if you don’t live there and don’t mind paying, there is also [Online High School | Online Middle School | Grades K-12 | Florida Virtual School](http://www.flvs.net) and https://hs.keystoneschoolonline.com/KeystoneOes/portlets/catalog/begin.do?se=1
