I plan on taking online courses during winter break b/c I want to leave my summer open for REUs. I am a mechanical engineering major and the classes I will be taking online are core classes (history, humanities, philosophy, etc...) so they don't really have anything to do with my major. I was wondering if when applying for grad school, will the admittance committee see that I took these courses online? If they do, would this be a negative since it was online classes even if it wasn't classes for my major?

anyone got any ideas?

Whether there will be a transcript notation indicating classes were taken on-line depends on the school, but it is unlikely that grad schools will care if the online courses aren’t related to the graduate studies you wish to pursue.
