What are your thoughts on the online classes? I was thinking about possibly taking one for my Pre-Calc class, do you suggest this?

I'm currently taking Microeconomics online. I was also not sure what to expect from an online class but 3 weeks into one that I have every day, I definitely like it. The problem with online classes is that you need to be focused or you will fall behind. A lot of people decide to fall behind on lectures and try to catch up the day before which you just can't do. You can watch lectures in double speed, which actually seems like 1x speed after your first try, in the comfort of wherever and whenever you decide to watch the class. Another thing is that you can always visit the live section of the class at your convenience.

Basically, if you think your focused enough to take 30 minutes a day from what you would rather be doing, go for it.

Is it Principals of Microeconomics? I have to take it online and I'm worried. Is it a fairly easy class?

Yea, it is principles of microeconomics. The class definitely isn't a pushover but it is a doable A. Like I said before, it's all about staying up to date and focused with your lectures. The material is pretty basic but his tests aren't very easy. However, every old test from the past 8 semesters is online and I cannot explain to you how important it is to use them. Quite honestly, if you have a decent feel for logic and economics in general, you could possibly just never listen to a lecture and just start doing the old tests a couple days before, learn as you go, and ace the test. 2 questions straight from textbook on each test but if you can spare 2/35 q's, the book, and the study guide for that matter aren't necessary at all. It is really all about the old exams..do every single one. Rush tries to be funny but it isn't very entertaining and eventually you will get tired of all the time wasting. Watch lectures on double speed and take 2 practice tests a day, every day starting 4 days before the tests and you'll ace the class relatively easily.

The establish* online course are very organize. Its up to you to you not to procrastinate, which is easy to do. Watching 10 stats lectures was no fun; at least it was at 3x the speed.

*Mans Food, Med Terminology, Economics, Stats, --these are the ones I know about.

Also make sure you know when the test dates are. I had a friend who missed one.

ASMAJ:
not to hijack this thread, but can you elaborate on statistics?
I'm taking it in the fall, and I'm a bit nervous about it being online and all. Thanks!

For stats, the live lectures are taped and put on https://lss.at.ufl.edu/ . Things might have change a little since I took it, but for me we had to buy a notebook with skeleton notes that the professor made and we would fill it in by watching the lectures. You had quizzes online every week. I also had a discussion lab where the TA would go over some stuff. Then you have the exams that are schedule in different lectures hall across campus. My professor spoke really slowly, so I would speed it up so I could finish the lecture faster. And actually speeding it up made him sound like he was speaking at a normal (at lease for me) pace.

How would you rate the difficulty of the course (I'm also taking it in the fall)

Will my Bright Futures and Financial aid be affected by taking online courses?

Lol no it doesn't have an effect on BF

No, but also remember there is a difference between online courses and distance learning courses.
