online decisions

I called davidson today, and they said they would be posting online decisions this saturday on the 13th =/
does anyone know exactly what time they will be posting them? i tried asking, but the person who i was talking to sounded really impatient, and just told me to look online. But ive been having trouble finding it online.

I applied Regular Decision, but my letter actually arrived to me before my online decision was posted. I think they posted April 1st, but they mailed the letter March 27th, so I got it on the 29th.

Online decision should probably go up by supper time on the day they indicate. Most schools do it at midnight, but you never know!
Don't worry -- I promise you'll hear soon :-)

Let me know the news!

ahh thanks so much
i'll probably be sitting in front of my computer all day saturday, refreshing the page...ugh im so nervous haha
i will definitely let you know how it goes : )

Yeah - do let us know!!! I wouldn't take too much of them seeming a little bit impatient.. every time I have talked to anyone at the davidson admissions office, and well anyone connected to davidson at all, they have been really, really nice. they probably just have a ton going on there with the deadlines coming up and EDI decisions going out soon.

Call me crazy, but i almost enjoy the waiting. not sure why - I guess I find it a little bit exciting. I won't be getting my decision for a long time.. but my guidance counselor talked to my davidson rep - who said i was a very strong candidate, so you can bet i'm pretty cheery!

best of luck to you the rest of this week!!

ttwhite- How did you ask your counselor to do that?
swimgirl- best of luck. make sure you tell us how you do. most of us on this forum envy your ability to do Early Decision and are incredibly jealous that you get to hear back so soon. So it would be nice to live vicariously through your excitement haha.

I don't think she asked. I think the davidson rep called. I think she wanted to talk about the curriculum at my school

thank you guys so much.
rfwcphs1 - it definitely was not an easy decision to make, but I am glad I did it. I dont think ill regret it, no matter what they decide to do with me haha.
is anybody else applying early?

I admire your decisiveness. Unfortunately finances and my own lack of decisiveness kept me from applying early. If you don't mind me asking, what led you to Davidson? Want to post some stats? Did you apply for the Belk?

haha this reminds me of their supplemental question.
well there are the obvious things that led me to davidson, such as their academics, graduation rate, high acceptance rate into grad schools, the people there, the campus, the town itself, etc.
But then there are the other things that i love about davidson, that I can't really put in words. It's just a 'feel' I got when i visited the campus with my family a year ago. I kind of said to myself "wow, i can really see myself happy here." This might be a bad thing, but I can't see myself happy anywhere else.
sorry about the vague answer, but that's the best i can do.

and here are my stats:
Location: Los Angeles, California
Type of school: private, college-preparatory school
Ethnicity: Korean (not sure if this will matter too much though)
GPA: 3.7 weighted : (
APs: my school doesn't offer any APs for freshman, only 1 or 2 for sophomores, and around 3 for juniors. Junior year I took AP US History (4) and AP Spanish Language (5)
This year, I am taking 5 academic AP courses.
SAT: 2300
SAT subjects: 760 korean with listening, 710 Math IIC, 680 Bio M (but I didn't take AP Bio before taking the test)

Extra curriculars:
Girls Swim team all four years of high school, swimming varsity this year
Swim club over the summer
Spent a couple weeks each summer working with disabled adults in the pool
Violin for 10+ years, played in an orchestra outside of school and the one my school offers.
200+ community service hours at local health clinic
Job at a cardiologists office
National Youth Leadership Forum at georgetown university last summer
Internship at South Korean National Assembly

These stats are miserable compared to some stats posted here : ( But people with GPAs lower than mine have done fairly well at Davidson from my school.

I did not apply for the scholarship. Will they consider me for it anyway?

"But then there are the other things that i love about davidson, that I can't really put in words. It's just a 'feel' I got when i visited the campus with my family a year ago. I kind of said to myself 'wow, i can really see myself happy here.'"

That's what a lot of to-be Davidson students say actually. I know that's how I felt.

As for Belk, I don't think you'll be considered for it if you haven't already applied (deadline was December 1st) but other scholarships are available, some of which you may not even have to apply for separately. I would look into that more closely if you're really interested.

Good luck!
And stat-wise, seriously, don't compare yourself to anyone. You are your own person with your own wonderful talents. Your stats are exceptional, and you never can know what the admissions office will say in the end.

"ED1 decisions will be posted online at 9am Eastern on Saturday, December 13. "

You never know -- we could end up in classes together! I'm in a class with all sophomores and juniors, so it happens!

You guys are gonna LOVE IT!

And to you Regular Decision people: don't worry! It'll feel like a long time, but really you'll look back and realize it's going really fast! You'll probably hear a little bit before they say you'll here. And you might hear snail mail before you hear online decisions -- that was the case with me last April :P
