I'm experiencing a scheduling conflict, where AP Chemistry and honors French 4 only have one section and they are both the same period. I'm probably going pre-med so I picked chemistry, but I still love French and I want to take AP my senior year.

Since the independent study I'm trying to pursue during the study hall I got stuck with will probably not pan out, are there any online
options I can look into? I tried FLVS but it seems like they don't offer French, and classes at my local community college for my level of French aren't until the spring and my high school doesn't accept the credit. Any options would be SO much appreciated. :)

Sorry if this is the wrong section, but nowhere else seemed better and this whole study hall and lack of a foreign language thing could be really detrimental to my applications next year.

Powerspeak looks like it would be good, but I’ve covered everything in their non-AP classes, and I want to take AP French at my high school. Thanks for the suggestion, though! :)

bump. Same thing with online college level math class. Does anyone have suggestion except EPGA? Please name some legitimate websites or links of threads that have this discussion. Thanks a lot

Continuity is very important in language study. A “gap” year – i.e. between French 3 and AP French is hard to overcome. Even repeating french at the French 3 level, and without receiving credit is a good option. Consider setting up a schedule for reading 3-5 french classics. Look at reading lists from your local CC for suggestions. Consider subscribing to “TV5” and listening to the nightly news/discussion program. Take that CC course in the spring and don’t worry about the “credit”. Change your browser home page to [url=http://www.lemonde.fr]Le Monde.fr : Actualit
