I'm trying to decide between a Phd in econ or an MPP degree. The problem is, I'm short on the math needed for an econ degree and I'm currently living outside of the country.

My question is, does anyone know of accredited online math courses? The courses I've found online end around Calc I and II, which I've already taken. I need linear algebra, diff equations, real analysis...

Also, assuming such online classes exist, are they even worth it? Will an admissions committee look down on an online course?

Thanks in advance!

I think I could be of assistance - I am also interested in a phD in economics after my undergrad - I just took an online course in Linear Algebra from Johns Hopkins University. I go to Hopkins, but you don’t need to go here take the course (pretty sure).

Hopkins offers online classes in Multivariable Calculus, Linear Algebra, and Differential Equations, usually each summer for 5-6 weeks from mid June until the end of July.

since math is VERY important for most (if not all) of the top programs, this could be a good option for you. send me a private message if you want more info
