How long does it usually take to receive the PIN after submitting the application?

My son submitted the Common App online about a week ago. The e-mail confirming receipt came this morning, and it said that a letter with the PIN would be arriving in the mail.

Greetings from New Haven!

This message is to let you know that your application to Yale has been

received by the Admissions Office and entered into our database. Thank you for

applying to Yale.

Please watch for an important additional application acknowledgment letter you

will be receiving in the mail. It contains your 'Eli account' ID and PIN for access to the website where you will be able to check on the status of your file and, eventually, learn your admissions decision. (If you have not paid your application fee and did not apply for a fee waiver, that will be reflected on the application status page. You will need to take care of this before your application receives further review.)

Due to the high volume of mail we receive at this time, we are not able to

answer specific questions about the status of each application. You will find a link to the Application Status Page on our website at Welcome to Yale College, Office of Undergraduate Admissions. We will send another notification when your application is complete.

Thank you for your interest in Yale. We wish you the best of luck with the application process.

Yeah, I got that email today too. Perhaps they sent them out in one big batch.

Yup, got the same one today about 9 hours ago. Can't believe I'm actually applying to Yale :X
