Online vs. Classroom

I am currently taking Precalculus online through my community college. Do you think that it's a good idea to take Calculus 1 online or in the class?

Depends on the kind of learner you are. I, personally, love online courses, because I absolutely HATE sitting in class listening to some professor drone on...it can be semi-attributable to ADD.

you should at least be familiar with calculus (from high school maybe) or your really good with math in general.

If these dont apply to you...you might really suffer from not having the demonstrative instructions a classroom course offers

I don't know about math, but I took microeconomics online last quarter and I'm currently taking english/writing 2 online (I go to De Anza by the way). What I found is that online classes are actually a lot less distracting for me. When I go to a classroom setting, the professor will usually end up sidetracking into stories or unrelated examples. However with an online class, everything is as clear cut as an outline--you just need to do your part on time and you'll be good to go. With calculus you might want to check how the questions are graded and how testing goes. I'd imagine it'd be a very difficult class if all the tests were online and multiple choice. good luck!
