How do you want to find out about your decision? Do you want the classic, romantic letter. Or, do you want the speed of the e-mail.

To me, it seems like figuring out your decision online would detract from the experience. I would rather find out in a letter. Letters just have that special feel to them. Maybe because, in this day and age, we get way more e-mails then letters. If I ever tell the story about how I got into Harvard (not going to happen) than I want to say I looked at it in a letter, not some lame email.

Still, if you are just dying to know I guess the online option would be the best way to go. Still, I would rather wait a few days extra to make it special.

So online (email or otherwise) or letter? Does it really matter?

Agreed, online is anticlimactic but...

I really want to know. Who cares where you saw it? If you are accepted, it's all good! Then you feel even better about the letter a few days letter. If rejected, eh. What can you do? You'd feel bad either way.

Online notification rules, man:D Honestly, you have a point when you say the snail mail is more romantic, but to us over-stressed people, a couple more days may prove fatal to our hearts or whatever. And then it's only romantic when you actually get in;) Btw, it's only natural that I prefer online decision, b/c I live in Vietnam, and snail mail (assuming it's the thin envelope:() takes two weeks at least, if it doesn't get lost in the first place>_<

I love online notification because it's so technical and official.

It's all like "Name: ***" "Condition: Accepted."

Just seems that much more prestigious and civilized. :)
