I used the online application. The only thing I didn't like about it was trying to figure out how to put in my essays; I couldn't figure out whether I should indent it by putting in a couple spaces or just enter-enter between paragraphs.

You can also put any extra stuff in the 'additional comments' (or whatever) section.

I sent mine by mail. And wrote on it with my own hand (no typewriter for me!) - I may have even used blue pen (I know I used it on other apps, I can't recall if that was allowed on the Harvard one or not). Anyway, sending it by paper and in your own handwriting makes you seem more like a person, rather than an anonymous blob on the other end of the internet. Plus my computer was and still is screwy, so I don't trust it (or any computers, for that matter) to get things where they need to go ... I preferred having the application in my hand and then physically putting in the mailbox and knowing it was physically going to the office ... you get my drift. Just my opinion though.

Do you think it would be ok to print out a copy of the commonapp that you filled out online, fill out the supplement by hand, and then mail everything in?

woo woo go fee waivers! I say bless those little letters from our guidance counselors. I feel bad asking my mother to pay for my app. fees, so expensive :(
