online vs. mail

I'm planning to fill out my common application and supplements online.
But I'm pretty sure that my teacher recs and secondary school report from guidance counselor will be mailed out to the schools separately.

Is this ok? On the common application website, it advises to either go entirely on-line or entirely by mail, rather than a mixture.

Am I better off submitting everything by mail in this case?

I would appreciate any help, I don't have too many people to ask around me, since i'm an international.

Your app can be online and your teachers can send by mail.

There is no problem with having a mixture. I had a mixture (all my appplications were online, but things such as recs and reports were given via post) and was completley fine. However, keep in mind that things can get lost in the mail, so don't get frustrated if you have to send things more than once. Hmm...I think it's pretty normal to have a mixture--I thought that's what most people did.
