GPA is pretty awful – somewhere between 2.9-3.0. I had an unbelievably-bad freshman year (2.2).
I know a few people who go to UDel. They love it, I’ve visited, and found it to be a really nice place.
I’m the fairly smart but very lazy student that we all know and love.

LOL… <3 the smart, but lazy student…LOL

OK…others may disagree, but I think your chances are about 50/50. On one hand, I’m sure the school would like your OOS tuition being paid by your parents and the ability to claim another OOS student on their rolls. However, UDel may not like that your stats don’t help their averages.

I don’t know what to think at this moment. I’ve shown a lot of interest, wrote an extensive letter explaining why I like UDel and such, now we play the waiting game for another month. Fun.

Is there any school beside UDel that you can see yourself going to for 4 years?

I hope you don’t mind me asking you this…but since your academics have been affected by your more “laid-back style,” do your parents mind spending $40k per year for you to go to UDel?

Just wondering out of typical parent-like curiosity. LOL

Heh, it’s no problem. My brother was a slacker as well, though not quite as bad as I am. He’s currently at WPI ($50k+) so I hope they wouldn’t mind. And yeah I can see myself going to any of the schools I listed, aside from Temple. I don’t dislike Temple as a school, but its location in Philly and how close it is to home make me not really want to go there.

bobs- You are refreshingly rare creature on CC.
Most posters are trying to cram as many AP classes, collegiate math classes, whatevers to get into schools.
You, on the other hand, have no idea what are the math perquisites for admittance for colleges you applied to.
Wow.
Good Luck.

bobs-why don’t you take a precalc at the local CC starting ASAP, probably Spring semester in March, or even online. It’s a long shot but you could use it for a reason for reconsideration for admittance when your rejections start rolling in.

Don’t worry about not having calculus under your belt. After the first month of college calculus, you can’t tell who has already taken calculus in high school and who hasn’t.
