Hey guys. So I’m working on my Princeton application, and I’m panicking because I only have three years of Spanish. My Spanish teacher resigned at the end of this year, and my school doesn’t have a replacement. I’m finishing my senior year of high school at a local private college and plan to take Spanish, but I can’t take it until second semester. Do you think this will be a huge flaw in my application?
No. You’re fine. Focus on the more important things, like your application narrative, essays and ECs etc. Princeton will understand. Maybe your counselor could speak to this in his or her recommendation, especially if Spanish is a central part of who you are and what you’re interested in.
I think there is a place on the Common App where you list the courses you plan to take second semester also. You can certainly add that in the comments section too.
I wouldn’t worry too much. I’m not taking a 4th year. I’m taking 5 AP classes so I’m not too worried. Honestly my friends have sent me their schedules, to see if we have the same classes, and it’s like;
Ceramics
Media
English
fine art
forensic science
